1. ENGLISHCOMBE LANE ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP APPLCIATION
The representatives of the Friends of Englishcombe Lane Field have applied to join FOBRA as an affiliate. You will recall that the Friends oppose the development of the Tufa field and the destruction of a nationally important habitat. You will also recall I drew attention to the petition they have started and you will be pleased to know that at the time of writing it had received some 2,500 signatures. I hope you will all vote in favour of their joining.
2. LIVEABLE NEIGHBOURHOODS/LTA'S
We await the Council’s report following the completion of the consultation. I hope they will shortly communicate their views to the citizens of Bath and provide us with a roadmap for where we all go from here.
3. TRANSPORT
The Transport group’s report is attached. It also appears that proposed changes to traffic circulation on Entry Hill and North Road will now be the subject of public consultation which is good news.
4. PLANNED CITY CENTRE SECURITY PROPOSALS CONSULTATION
You will be aware that the Council is presently consulting on planned city centre security measures. I previously circulated TARA’s views on the plans. Are we able to agree a FOBRA response to the consultation e.g supporting TARA’s concerns?
5. BATH BUSINESS SUPPORT COMMITTEE
The Committee will update us on their work over the past couple of months, work that will be increasingly critical given the third lockdown city businesses are now experiencing.
6. HIGH COMMON AND ENTRY HILL
Representatives of both will update us on latest developments, including the fact that the tender process has been restarted.
7. COVID AND THE UNIVERSTIES
The Universities have asked me to circulate the attached press release about the return of the students and Bernie Morley has kindly offered to answer residents’ questions and concerns at the meeting on Thursday.
8. LOCAL DEMOCRACY
Whilst the Council obviously have a lot of other issues on their plate at the moment, I would like us to set up a group to take forward our plans to campaign for the parishing of Bath/the reestablishment of Bath’s city council and I would be grateful for volunteers to lead/join the group.
9. AOB
Including responses to the Council’s survey about the future of the city?
